When God made the heavens and the earth and all that is within it, did you know that at the end of each of the first five days, He looked at His creation and “saw that it was good”?
Then as God created mankind and introduced him to The Garden of Eden, God made the statement ... "IT IS NOT GOOD". Wait, what was not good? "It is not good for man to be alone." (Gen. 2:18)
We were created for relationship. So why are they so hard at times?
We begin the restoration journey at the beginning. In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God. Restoring relationship with God, Jesus and Holy Spirit is our starting point. To begin, we have to look at our reality. Are there places in our lives that could use restoration? And if so, in what areas? Some may say 'how can you restore something you never had'? The truth is beloved, He has given you everything for a satisfying life, and a life of purpose from the very beginning. Some of us were unaware of this truth for we have not experienced it, yet. But, God is the very foundation to build our lives upon. He is our authority. And His truths are everlasting. so this section is about restoring our relationship with The Trinity - Father God, Jesus and Holy Spirit. My hope is that using this site will equip you with insights and tools which will help you connect with the truth of who the Godhead is, which in turn, uncovers our need for them in our life to restore reality, authority and truth.
Are you willing to look at your thought patterns regarding this?
So. Let's tackle that statement. Our perceptions come from our core beliefs. Our core beliefs are the very foundation of our reality. When we have a thought it comes from our perception or core belief. And sometimes that perception/core belief is wrong.
What are core beliefs, and why do they matter?
Core beliefs are our most deeply held assumptions about ourselves, the world, and others.
They are firmly embedded in our thinking and significantly shape our reality and behaviors.
In fact, nothing matters more than core beliefs. They are the root causes of many of our problems, including our automatic negative thoughts. Yet, core beliefs are precisely that: beliefs. Based on childhood assessments, they are often untrue. They are also self-perpetuating. Like magnets, they attract evidence that makes them stronger, and they repel anything that might challenge them. But it is possible to change them.
Here's an example:
We have a THOUGHT: The thought is processed from a core value of who you think you are, due to perception from others and possibly self or things that have happened to you. Therefore, this core thought pattern has you believing possibly lies about self. Now your thought turns into your belief.
The Belief is the core belief in who you are, and will therefore allow behavior patterns to play out in the negative or positive cycle making you behave positively or negatively.
The Behavior: due to your thought and belief system, you play out the behavior motivated by that core belief bringing emotions and feelings to the forefront.
Emotions: you ‘emote’ or define who you are each moment from the core belief and behavioral structure in play.
We think a thought;
We decipher that thought through our core beliefs;
That thoughts turns into feelings/emotions
The feelings turn into an action
The action turns into a result in life.
There are four important qualities of a healthy relationship; trust, communication, boundaries, and respect. Without these important pillars a healthy relationship is nearly impossible. But, that can be changed.
